We are fortunate to have so many talented bike builders here in Northern California, but there are a few that stand out above the crowd. Like the custom builders that not only create a very cool bike, but rather a highly functional piece of motorcycle art. Stacy McCleary from Manteca is one those rare few. Anyone who has been around the bike show scene knows that he has created several show stopping motorcycles in the past that have won at all levels, and this motorcycle is just one of them. Now you could not blame Stacy if he just covered these bikes up and kept them under wraps until the next show, but that is not his style, he believes that bikes are built to ride. This beauty is the bike that he and his wife Danell ride around the Sturgis Rally every year. Stacy builds all his bikes in his home shop where he fabricates a lot of the parts and resources others from swap meets and as you can see he is very creative and resourceful. A while back, I was super excited when Stacy offered to let me take one of his latest builds out for a ride. I was blown away by the quality of the ride and the way that custom motorcycle handled, I would have ridden that bike all day if I could have - so I can attest to the fact that his motorcycles function as good as they look. So let’s get into the nuts and bolts of this ride!
